C-Fast offers faster acting and a more subtle alternative to traditional braces. Made with clear brackets and tooth-coloured nickel-titanium wires, C-Fast is used on just the front teeth and can produce results in 4-6 months.
Because it targets just the cosmetic issue of overlapping teeth, C-Fast is suitable for patients looking for a straighter smile for aesthetic reasons. Used on just the front teeth, C-Fast is a great option for patients who have otherwise healthy, well-aligned teeth, but whose front teeth are misaligned or overlapping.
Like other braces, C-Fast uses a gentle force created by the nickel-titanium wires to exert pressure on the teeth, moving them into a straighter, more aligned position. C-Fast can get to work more quickly than other orthodontic treatments because it focuses on just the front teeth.
While we don’t expect patients to experience pain when using C-Fast, there can be some initial discomfort. This is because while the pressure exerted by the braces is gentle, it can take some getting used to – usually about a week or so.
Cleaning your teeth while wearing braces can be a little difficult. We will go over everything with you, and make sure you feel comfortable with the cleaning process. We’ll also advise you on which foods to avoid while wearing your C-Fast braces – seeds, nuts, popcorn, and crusty bread can get caught and dislodge the brackets, for example.
Most patients wear their C-Fast braces for between 4-6 months, although some cases might take up to nine months.
We always recommend the use of a retainer after any orthodontic treatment, including C-Fast. This is to help ensure your teeth remain in their new, straighter position.
